Thank you for the opportunity to interview for the position of Web Production Artist. This page was created to highlight some of the necessary skills and training I have.

Web Design

This page was created using only CSS and XHTML for design and layout.

Although I know how to use Dreamweaver and similar WYSIWYG editors, I choose not to use it in creating this page. It's been my experience that creating pages using a text editor results in the cleanest code, that makes it easier to troubleshoot.

I choose not to use any tables for layout of this page. The current trend in web design is to move away from using tables. This helps separate design from content, especially when creating dynamic sites.

This page was designed using a minimalistic approach to graphics. There are a total of seven .gif images used.

Though not used on this page I have used JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL in website creation, as well as using Photoshop/ImageReady, Illustrator and Flash for graphics.

I have also created banner ads for various companies, both animated and static in different sizes. The campaigns have since run their course and I don't have any samples available at this time.

Print Design

I also have skills in print design and production. I've used Quark, PageMaker, Illustrator, and InDesign for various projects.

Etc.

Working at an ad agency allowed me to learn advertising media placement. This consists of scheduling, budgeting, purchasing and placement of advertising in newspapers, magazines and journals, radio and the internet.

Other experience includes interactive multi-media CD-ROM creation using Macromedia Director as well as bicycle retail and repair.
